Resolution

Install older version of

  • unixODBC
  • mysql-connector-odbc

In my case, uninstalling the unixODBC driver shipped with RHEL 6.3 and installing older version of these packages worked:

  • unixODBC-2.2.11-1.RHEL4.1
  • mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.26-0

The mysql-connector and be downloaded from mysql.
